Unveiling a Unique Steam Demo: Playing as a Piece of Feces on a Quest to Arrive at the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and gamers have discovered a variety of interesting indie games. But, one stands out for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled side-scrolling game includes a protagonist that is literally a dung striving to navigate to a restroom. For those curious, "Unko" translates to "poop."
How you interact is simple: just use a jump control. In 150 stages, you'll face tough enemies and unlock a market to acquire outfits for your poop character.
Time your movements with caution, since one mistake forces starting over. Bounce off floating orbs to launch your character to new heights, navigate crumbling ledges, and activate switches to open hidden paths. Collect currency for buying tougher stages as gameplay ramps up.
Graphically, the game features vibrant stages and a killer music score. Its minimalist graphics featuring moving geometric shapes could recall fans of classic titles like Earthbound.
Even though hard to recall similar titles where you control a piece of feces, interactive entertainment have long featured toilet humor. For example, in Death Stranding, you can craft explosives from protagonist excrement. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize feces as fertilizer. Naturally, such content appears extensively in Obsidian's role-playing game The Stick of Truth.
Despite its silly concept, Unko Technica has already received impressive awards, such as winning at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is ready now on Steam, with the full game planned to arrive on Steam this November.
